Does Ford have any kind of answer for the Corvette SS?

Bad timing financially to bring anything out. God only knows how GM can justify it.

Looks like the bowtie will be taking over top spot.

Ford will be out of the sports car biz for awhile.

too bad. even the GT would be hard pressed to compete, unless it shed a wack of weight.

The GT will probably need 700 HP or more to show its taillights to the blown vette. That's a mild and reliable Twin Turbo conversion. SCT/Stage 6 offers a tame 700 HP set up and if you need a little extra, just push the boost button for an extra 150+ turbo ponies which is similar to a nitrous shot. $25,000 includes other necessary upgrades and tune. They are a great bunch of car guys who were at SEMA with Joe's car.

Corvettes are a dime a dozen. I see loads of em everyday. I had my GT at a car show this past Saturday parked beside my cousins Z06. Guess which one got most of the attention. It wasn't the Cheeby. Don't get me wrong, that Corvette is a beautiful car but that GT will get em every time. With a pulley and a little tuning the Corvette will be looking at the GT's tail lights if it can see that far. I think the Corvette would have supercar status if it were a mid engine design. Not likely to happen in my lifetime. my.02 :thumbsup

Exactly. At the end of the day you'll have a really fast Corvette.

:lol :rofl

At what point are people going to have to go to driver school to drive these cars? We're getting to the point where stock cars these days are faster than even the fastest modded street legal cars of 10 years ago.

With over 300 GT's and numerous other exotics wrecked, I think some people should go to a driving school.

GT vs CORVETTE

I had my GT at a Central Kansas Corvette Club car show and won Judge's Choice! I've shown my Cobra there several times and always win my class but it's unheard of for anything other than a Corvette to get the big one. GT's RULE!!

300 wrecked GT's?

300?!?! Is that a real # or a guess? That's 7.5% of total GT production. Not that it matters but is there any hard data on how many GT's have been wrecked?

I think the comment included other exotics as well as GT's.

Steve Saleen made mention to someone here that over 300 GT's have battle damage and therefore he is setting up a division to deal with the repairs. Over 10% of the Cobras built in the 60's were wrecked before the buyer made his first payment acording to CS. :bang
