US demand for gasoline is at a seven year low (source: 247wallst.com), yet we're driving more miles than ever. Who should pay for the roads?
Here in south Florida, if you use toll roads you don't even have to slow down for the tolls. Sunpass gives users a discount, and non-Sunpass get their license plate photographed and a bill, with admin fee, in the mail. No toll booths. Just overhead banks of transponder receivers and cameras.
I like well maintained roads.
