In the Summer apparently Jeremy Clarkson and Stig came to the USA and shot some video of the protoype GTX-1 at the track. Does anyone know when this will be available for purchase and where one might get a copy?

If your info is right, my guess is that they were recording it for their next series of Top Gear, which was due to start showing a couple weeks ago. But then their co-presenter (Richard Hammond) crashed and burned in a Jet-powered car. Fortunaely it looks like he'll be OK (thanks to the local Air Ambulance which got him to hospital quickly - he suffered pretty bad head injuries), but they've delayed the series until he's better.

I doubt you'll get a video until after it's broadcast. Happy to send it over once it's been on UK TV.

Thanks Mr. Sniff! Yes we all heard about Mr. Hammond and we're glad he is recovering. Unfortunately, we don't get Top Gear here on TV for some crazy reason, so we are TG deprived. I think those guys are hilarious and so any videos you can pass along would be much appreciated.

p.s. I heard from Mark G. of Gennadi a few months ago that the show they taped was intended for a DVD, not just the TV broadcast. I assume they were going to sell it in time for Christmas. So keep us posted there too.

It's Official!

Here is the link to the new DVD - "The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly". http://www.amazon.co.uk/Jeremy-Clar.../ref=sr_1_3/026-8291906-6901251?ie=UTF8&s=dvd

My British friend Matthew C. points out "Don't know whether it'll work in the States, or whether you have a multi standard player, but ...".

So for you techie types out there, please let us know - can we run this DVD in a normal player or do we have to wait for a North American version?

That will be a question for the producer of the DVD. region coding is elective during the mastering of the DVD. As is it is not a theatrical release, I would doubt that is is coded, but what do I know.

Found a review here - http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/content.php?contentid=63220

Unfortunately, the reviewer says some things that may upset people so be forewarned if you can't take Jeremy's jokes. For instance, "Clarkson, even in his opening minutes, talks about his dislike of America, Americans and, more pertinently, American cars so when he's finally let loose on some hardware, he's less than flattering about it. A Toyota Prius, which draws Clarkson's ire for claiming to be environmentally friendly, is shot at by a Texan with a substantial arsenal of weaponry."

Seeing a Texan shooting at a Prius is probably pretty amusing and certainly supremely fitting. However, my personal reason for wanting this DVD was originally because I wanted to see Mark's GTX-1 on the track. So I will be willing to overlook some tongue-in-cheek humor. But others may not be so forgiving. Americans might want to keep in mind that no one takes potshots at the guy in 2nd place - they only take shots at the guy who is #1.

Oh, I don't know. I'll take shots at anyone, regardless of rankings.

I would find it pretty hard to take offense at anything Jeremy said... he slags the "Ros-Beefs" (as he calls the Brits) about as hard as anyone. I think it was the Ariel Atom that he described as being built by "a couple of turnip farmers from the Midlands" or some such nonsense... before he went on to say he thought the car was brilliant!

Yes Jeremy does have a gift! I think he's pretty funny. His original review of the GT still cracks me up.

p.s. I had a Hemi Cuda when I was 19. What a great motor! My GT reminds me of the Hemi Cuda in one important regard - you better make sure you have it pointed straight before you stomp that loud pedal!!!
