OK so I have been reading a while and figure its time to post. Thought I would wait till the GT was parked in the garage but sometimes its hard to bite the tounge! I guess its the fingers in this case?
So why is he a sell out? Lets see the guys dedicated his whole life to cars, represented numerous companies with the highest degree and because he has decided to make money he has lost his integrity? What do you all think of the highest paid athletes of this world? Shchue must be a sell out, he could have raced for free! :thumbsdow
Fact is the guy made some great cars in the sixties, obviously he can still do so. The world has changed as we all know, so why shouldnt he be allowed to capitalize on his name. Nobody twists wrenches like they used to so why should he? Why not slap Lee's Icoca's name on something? Because nobody cares about having his name on their car, its simply not as well known otherwise he would be doing it!
Fact is something is worth what one is willing to pay. Look at googleVP here, he would have us believe he's a VP of an automated telephone book. Esentially something we could all do ourselves, look something up! Heck me and my friends have been looking things up by ourselves for years, Sometimes we would look things up for others or pass on information for free, why should a company like google be worth a dime doing this?
End of the story is this, if you dont like what the guy is selling dont buy it. His latest offering out perform his old ones and if you think it cheapens the real thing you have to ask yourself if the real thing hasnt been over valued for a long time. After all if a shitty elanor can garner 180k with his name on it why should a 67 performance car with 1967 technologies that couldnt touch one of the elanors in performance be worth 180K? Simply because it has his ( the Shelby)name on it.
P.S Googlevp after reading a few of your posts it obvious you know very little about the FGT, hopefully you are here to learn and not just bash. Shelby had a lot to do with this car as a consultant but far more with the history and its safe to say without him, his Mustangs, His Cobra Coupes there would be no GT story at all.
