I would be careful with those because I believe (not totally sure) that those have just a thin film of carbon fiber looking vinyl shrinked over them. seen that same process on a lot of Japanese car parts plus I don't believe they have a license to make Power by Ford products of any kind. they look nice but i would worry about their surface longevity. I like what it says...

• Brand New Genuine Ford in the Ford Box.
• Same Coil Cover as used on the Ford GT SuperCar.
• Will work on ANY 1999-2004 Cobra, 2003-2004 Mach 1
• Custom High Gloss Hydro Carbon Fiber Finish w/ Red Gloss Lettering. Looks Amazing!!!
No one will have these under their hood.
• Sold as a pair (Both LH & RH)

...is this because no one would want fake CF on their GT? Is it a self fulfilling prophecy?

They are just a screen print that looks like carbon, NOT real carbon. They are an original Ford part that has a custom finish on them, so I don't see any problem with them, nor do I feel they would have an issue with holding up, but I don't know that for sure. Not bad looking on the right application....

I kinda like them too based on what theme an owner is trying to achieve.

Not a fan of fake carbon fiber. On the other hand, they do sell coil covers in the original finish without the wrap for a good price. I picked up a set.
