That's a lot of miles bud. It has to be in the top 5 GT's out there, including the durability testers...

Cimax,

Given the miles on your car you're obviously ahead of the rest of us in part replacement experience. Would you mind providing a list of the parts you've replaced due to wear-and-tear? Would you also mind estimating how aggressively you drive your car?

It would be interesting to track average mileage life of major components by driver type (e.g. how long the average clutch lasts for aggressive, medium and Empty Pockets type drivers).

Thank you very much.

:rofl:rofl Now that's funny!

Heard there is a new movie coming out - a remake on the John Travolta movie in the 70's but this time it is starring none other than EP's GT-

called "the GT in the bubble" :rofl

(that will teach you to use my name in a resturant and walk on the bill Larry!)

From the pictures I assume this was a DIY repair, could you give a number from 1 to 10 on the difficulty scale. Were there any surprises, would you do it again?

Please do a search through Cimax's old posts. He lists many of the things he has replaced. He doesn't have many posts, so it will be easy to find.

Maintenance I have don to my Car....Cimax GT

1. 1 set front tires
2. 2 sets of rear tires
3. oil change every 3000k miles
4. clutch at 54k miles. I remanufactured clutch cost me $300.00
5. transmision oil every 4000 miles
6. radiator fluid every 15k miles
7. transaxel bolts 3 times (I carry a set of tools, If needed I can repair axel bolt on the spot..... 2 hr repair....
8. speedometer sensor 3 times $25.00
9. front headlight lamps 2 times
10. fog lights 2 times
11. every 3000 miles I tighten under carriage nuts (at high speeds they may loosen) with vibration...
12. I have not replace my spark plugs as of yet or cables
13. I use only 93 octane
14. I will replace engine band soon
15. starter is in good condition
16. 16 man hrs to remove and replace transmision I did it my self with no help.
17. air and oil filter as needed

I have not had any other repairs or maintenance done on my car. My driving has been hard consistent with they way that most people who own a GT would be.... When speed is needed I do as the car permits... No accidents no major issues.... I drive my car every day on the average of 150 miles per day....

Props to you. I dont have any idea how you have only replaced the rear tires twice. That would mean you are getting about 17000 per set. Thats just crazy!

Have to ask about the undercarriage nuts - What are they per your defintion - the pan bolts on the belly pans?

11. every 3000 miles I tighten under carriage nuts (at high speeds they may loosen) with vibration...

Thanks again and, Keep Rolling and Posting! :thumbsup

You're my kinda GT owner !! Did you change the clutch without a lift ? The Accufab / ARP bolts would be the last ones you would need to buy! Ford is just sending out axle bolt letters I hope you get some of those replacements taken care of !! A tranny cooler may get you some more life out of your fluid . Keep up the good work !! We'll be waiting for more long term maintenance reports..:thumbsup
