Are race car drivers athletes ?

So it was you!! I was there the summer of '92.
Probably not...at that time the fastest thing I was flying was a TA-4J (A-4 Skyhawk)...at least that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

I roadraced motorcycles for a little over ten years including many endurance races where we each would be on the bike a full hour in a full set of leathers, leathers gloves and boots and of course full face helmet in the middle of the summer in Texas. I worked out hard at the gym to be able to maintain physically and mentally during my stints so I sure thought I was an athelete. I then raced formula cars in SCCA for many years and same goes there as I trained hard at gym to be able to keep mentally and physically at my best while in driving suit etc... in the heat
And Im know where near a pro so yes racers are atheletes in my opinion
Heck im headed to Baja for in two weeks a 5 day race on a motorcycle and Im training hard for that too
