What does the throttlebody actually do for you? Either a stock car or a car with a pulley. Is it really worth the money?

well.....

This package allows more cfm of air to go into the supercharger so it can compress more air into the motor. Depending on if your GT is stock or modified will regulate what the hp/torque gain will be gained by doing this upgrade.

Worth the money....hmmm....well it really depends on how much you are looking to upgrade your GT. I personally think that this upgrade and a SCT XCal2 programmer are the first upgrades I would personally do before anything else!

Hope this answers your questions :)

Just finished upgrading a customers 05 GT.

ACU-FAB throttle body, Ford Racing muffler, 2.75 pulley, Diablo program in the PCM. 650 hp at the wheels. HP numbers don't matter as much as "seat of the pants" feel. This car is a ROCKET! Broke the tires loose halfway through 2nd gear. What a ride.

Thats a good deal from MMP, Although on a car with just a PCM upgrade, the K&Ns didn't make much difference.

Keep up the good work for us MMP :biggrin

....

BH1 - Ditto....

GT Tech - It is true the K&N's on the dyno don't show much of a horsepower gain. However we believe that a larger horsepower gain will be seen when the car is truly in motion and grabbing air that is coming over the car when driving. We wish we had a wind tunnel that could simulate real life conditions to see what true horsepower gains are when a car is in motion as I am 100% sure you will see a completely different horsepower graph then when a car is in one spot being dynoed.

Jack,
I'm sure your right about more air flow when the car is moving. The K&Ns we used were for a Lightning, and the pleats the opposite from the stock GTs. (I don't think that matters though) :thumbsup

Please send some warmth our way. It's COLD here in Michigan.

Any dyno numbers before and after on an otherwise stock GT?

Hey just wondering if you would be able to sell this without the inlet sleeve for a lower price

...

GT Tech - Nice chatting with you in the PM. We will talk later on this week.

ACRJoe - I wish you were local to us. I would be happy to put your car on the dyno to see before and after results for your GT. Accufab hasn't posted any before and after dyno numbers with their products unfortunately for us to share with you.

If there are any local GT owners completely bone stock and would like to use your GT for testing please let us know!

ETW - Sent you a PM.

Are you going to optimise the tune for each setup, or just compare baseline GT to one with the headers and an optimised tune.

BlackICE

Yes!

BlackICE - We are going to do dyno numbers without a tune and with a tune.

Too bad I am in northern CA, I would love to hear what the headers sound like. I fear they would be too load for street use though. The thought of drawing the attention of the smog police and the bi-annual install/uninstall stops me from even considering the headers. I look forward to seeing the dyno graphs.

BlackICE

yeah...

Well it is 5 years from when you purchase the car you need a smog and there are ways to get around the bi-annual dues :)
