30000? Do you mean 30,000 2010 GT500's? Have I mis-understood something? I would have guessed maybe 5000... Probably even less in the economic climate today.

Since I probably won't be around when the 2009 KR's collector value kicks in (and heck mine would likely have too many miles for serious collector dollars), I'm leaning ever so slightly to the 2010. But like several have suggested, I'd like to see the 2010 in person first.

I just meant regular GT500s. They intend to build 7500-10,000 GT500's a year. 07-08 half a year in 09, 2010, 2011. That's a lot of regular GT500s. I do think the volume will shrink with the economic climate, and potential looming emissions and fuel economy legislation.

If you intend to keep it (and pass it on to your children), the value of the 2009 GT500 KR (in 50 years) will be considerably greater than the 2010 GT500 - mainly because of the numbers built and the Shelby name...just a thought.

I own an 06 Mustang vert. I sat in a 2010 base model and GT. The interior is no comparison. The 05-09 interior feels cheap compared to the 10 interior. I had no problems with my interior until I sat in the new one.

The new Shelby might have the octane sensing technology the others have. The timing is adjusted if you get a tank of bad gas or for some reason you have to fill it with regular.

How about spending less for a 2010 and see if Shelby will super snake it.

I think you will definitely see them in that range. The fact of the matter is they had supply problems and the cars came to market too late and now the 08-09s are screwed. The KR is a faster car with a more aggressive suspension, but you could definitely argue it doesn't look as good, it's interior is vastly inferior, and it's way more costly. It's a really neat car and it will unquestionably be worth way more down the line (1700 units vs. potentially 30,000), but having been in and around the 2010, that is one bad ass car. I've driven the KR on public roads, and I don't think on anything but a racetrack would you sense the difference.

Why is the KR faster than the 2010 GT500? Gears? Weight? Isn't the HP the same? I can't decide on the KR or 10 GT500.

I've got my eye on a Saleen Gurney Mustang.

But I promised I wouldn't go back to a mustang after a 1997 Roush Stage II Mustang, and a 1996 Cobra.

Mostly, the handling drives me nuts. Part of the fun, for a while.

I liked the handling of the Parnelli car with the Watts Link and the Saleen Gurney has it also.

The KR has 3.73 gears, I think, but lower than the GT500 which I think is 3.51.

As soon as things pick up and I hope to pick up 2 2010 500's for the wife and i as summer drivers.

dave is correct.the nice and wow 09 shelbys really are cool but it reminds me of how cool the 65 stang was until the 68 came out.then the 69/70 made me forget about women for a whole day.

There were a couple on EBAY the last few days with BIN prices in the hi 30s- low 40s vs MSRP of roughly $58,000. Also, at least one of the Ebay listings was a dealer with a couple of them, and when I called about a month ago, they sounded pretty motivated to sell then, so they ought to be really ready to talk now!:banana

$39,959 is the best price I have seen so far for the Gurneys. $57,549 MSRP.

I haven't even checked eBay yet, good suggestion.

It is probably only marginally faster in a straight line but it has a more aggressive suspension and near R-compound tires. I was talking around a track.

GT500 has a 3.31 axel ratio.

The 2009 GT500 has 3.31, but press reports suggest one of the changes for the 2010 GT500 is 3.55 gears and revised ratios for 5th and 6th in the gearbox.

I decided to go with an 2009 Carrera 4S in Meteor Silver with PDK with black "Carrera" lettering and black stripe on the rocker panels with race sport seats over the KR. I hope I made the right choice.

Congratulations. I've wanted a Porsche 911 my whole life. We leased a Cayenne S for four years, I took that off road everywhere, and it never failed to impress me. Well built, and paint was durable and beautiful.

Enjoy!

Syco: Thanks. It is a VERY sharp car. With PDK 0-60 in 4.1 sec! Half a sec off the Turbo.

So far I love the PDK/F1 trans and wouldn't go back. Its amazing. You can't shift manually as fast. Its slick...or you can just drive it in full auto.
