Gentlemen,

I am getting ready to order a new GT500. As I need another new car about as much as I need a dose of the clap I would prefer to wait a few months and order a 2009 model year car. I love the styling of the current generation (2007/2008) GT500 however so if the styling is going to change at all in 2009 I want to order a 2008 car posthaste. Some websites that I researched showed the headlight and front fender styling to be different in 2009 while others say that body style changes will not occur until the 2010 model year which will will start midyear 2009. I know we have some Ford Motor Company insiders on this site who can answer that question. Will there be any Mustang styling changes for 2009? Thanks!

Chip the 2009 will be the same as the 2007/2008. The change will be 2010 but it will be an early build Jan 09 is what I am told. The 2009 model run will be built from June untill Dec. Last week was the last week to order a 2008 so you will have to order a 2009 if that is what you want.

I would not expect a Shelby model on the 2010 out of the gate. It may be 2011 before it comes out although nothing official has been said. I am sure Dave can ask Jamal when the next gen Shelby will be out.

2009.5 stang GT will have new body, the rest will follow later..... not firm, and apparently not running behind. People will love it.

I was invited to a consumer styling clinic about a year ago, where we were shown a protype of the new Mustang, alongside the current crop of sporty FWD Asian coupes.

I think the restyle looked great....definitely worth waiting for.
