Something you would use as an "almost" daily driver and take to track once or twice a year.
What would you pick and why?

I haven't actually driven any of them - however I've heard really nice things about the new ZR-1. Apparently, GM has quite a few promotions to move them too

Easy

Boss 302 LS in red or yellow because....

1. No red wheels!
2. It's a Ford.
3. It's relatively cheap to buy.
4. Cheap to fix when I prang it at the track someday.
5. NA cars will probably live longer when flogged at the track.
6. 8 billion aftermarket items are available for the Mustang.
7. Again, it's a Ford.

The Ford should be a great bang for the buck, but when we were in Vegas last Feb for Stig's day out, SDana had a new ZR1 and it was very, very nice and comfortable.

I know a few folks that are ordering the Boss 302 Mustang for many of the reasons as shared by Chip. They consider them to be a relatively inexpensive gal to purchase, one that they can toss around hard on the track, and they know that the cost of parts is low and availability of parts is high being at or near the top of their list.

I would go with the Boss for all the reasons Chip listed. The ZR1 is nice, just don't think I'd wanna daily it.

Zr1: electro mag suspension and new traction stability control prgram and lot of power, ceramic brakes but a good size price tag (100+K).
BOSS 302; 5 way adjustable suspension (1 for rough roads,2 is factory 3-5 for the track)
can get short shift and recarro seats, alcatara steering wheel and is to outperform the M3. 440 hp(Ford may have another winner). New viper (2012), Ferrari technology compliments of Fiat.

You could just about buy a new Z06 and Boss for the price of one ZR1. ;~)
