Your garage, how do you open GT's door??

just thought of this! how do you get out of your GT once safely in the garage. I can't throw the other valuable car outside! I hate the idea of having to start the other car's engine and back it out and then pull it back in. Not because of the time... just hate the idea of the additional cold starts on a hi-tech expensive engine. any other solutions out there? bma2

lambo doors!

someone here has done it.

Crawl in and out a bit. Its not a tough one.

Back the car in and get the passenger side closer to the car beside it leaving you ample room on the driver side away from the wall. Its not that bad....
Now, give me a call and lets get this thing going! You will be grinning ear to ear once you are driving this thing down the road! :thumbsup :driving:

If you are really worried - go to Home Depot and get some pipe insulation, the foam type with the split in it for wrapping the pipes.

One member here when he opens the door slips it on the doors edge before fully opening the door to get out :thumbsup

Good Idea! :thumbsup

Very carefully...

Expanding on Shelby's thought, you might want to BACK the other car into the garage so IT'S driver's door is away from the GT ... and "crowd" that car over as close to the wall on that side as you can, 'cause IT has a door you can easily squeeze out thru if space is tight. By crowding that car over to the wall as much as you can, you'll leave just that much MORE space to open the GT's door on the other side of the garage.

I'm suggesting you back the OTHER car in because of the vision restrictions you'd fight if you backed the GT in instead. MUCHO less chance for damage to the GT if one is BACKING it out into a completely OPEN space... if you get my drift.

('Above said assuming what you're working with is wunna today's SO CALLED "two car garages".)

There is a handle on the inside of the door - pull it toward you carefully; the door should unlatch and allow you to swing it open by its hinges; as you exit, watch out for that part of the door that is nearest your head; swing your feet out and then CRAWL

:lol :lol

MAD IN NC's post (while I'm typing this is equally hilarious!!) :rofl:banana:banana

Being serious (are we ever??), taking EP's post a step further, until my garage is done, my 911 goes in backwards on the LEFT wall so that I can open my drivers door to the center, and my GT goes in forward on the RIGHT wall so that I can also open its drivers door to the center. I agree with Larry that backing the GT toward the open space is far more preferable than doing it toward the much more solid (and far less forgiving than the wide open airspace) wall ....... Oh, and each car is driven over as close to the wall as can reasonably be expected to maximize 'center' space. :cheers

Griots sells a wall pad strip

Park it outside. :biggrin

Yup, I have to pick my passengers up after I clear the driveway anyway, so that's how I park the GT everytime.

Makes for quicker departures also...

My GT takes up two spaces in a three-car garage. The Mrs. gets her spot, and my truck sits outside. I'd rather have my truck sit outside (besides, it's a Chevy) and keep the extra space around my GT.

My next house will probably be a bit of challenge. I'll have to down grade to a one-car garage. Oh the sacrifices I make for my country...

Best Regards,
Waldo

I pull mine into the garage just until the rear wheels make it in the garage. I then hop out & push her in....
