With 250K in subsidies, Chevy still can sell many Volts

How is it that Ford without any gov. aid could sell a gas guzzling FGT developed in less than 3 years and sell the entire production in spite the car having the highest MSRP of any car made in the USA?

I think this is a good use of my tax dollars. :frown

Unfortunately they have a reputation for catching on fire.

Thank God the govt is NOT subsidizing Nissan's Leaf!

Because the FGT evoked primordial LUST in any male whose blood was still circulating - that's why!

Some consider the avoidance of paying a gas tax a subsidy. (Not stating my personal political belief here) :rolleyes

Many states are considering new taxes on Hybrids and electrics to collect the desired revenues.

It seems likely at some point there will be road use and other taxes applied to the electric energy used in cars. Just because you can fill up at home does not expemt one from the tax man. At the moment the government is trying to promote the new tech, when that phase is over, the taxes will come.
