I've found that no matter where you live, if you get up really early on a Saturday morning, you will have the road all to yourself for a couple of hours. This is my typical motorcycle routine.

i just got back from a 100 mile ride on my turbocharged Kawi right now as a matter of fact :cheers

i had some steam to blow off and there is nothing better for relieving the pressure than a wastegate on 2 wheels :lol

100 mph wheelies in 3rd gear is the drug for me :biggrin

If that mine is the Marintzi open pit mine, I have actually been in it and got to drive in the world's largest caterpillar. Cool place...

that is correct :thumbsup although it is spelled Morenci. my house is only 50 miles from it. a P-51 mustang just flew over my House about 10 minutes ago on the way to the mine and back. the sound of the motor was just glorious. its supposed to be 85* here tomorrow. i can't wait :cheers

Take mucho ear protection with you on that B-17 ride! THOSE THINGS ARE N-O-I-S-E-Y!:ack :usa:usa:usa

And know, too, (and I'm sure you DO) that they're a bit S-L-O-W-E-R than you're use to traveling as well! (You probably pull into your garage faster than those things can fly wide open!) :lol

Uuuuuh...I was just wondering...with regard to being with you on that flight...that wish wouldn't have involved my exiting the aircraft, "at altitude", somewhere along the route, would it? :eek :willy

you know i was just checking out your user profile and i noticed that you were born on D-day. my father visited the beachs of Normandy a few years ago. here is a cool vid from that day i found on the net >

http://www.army.mil/d-day/

were B-17's used on that mission?

I am the altitude guy!! :wink :lol ......at least when it comes to exiting..:biggrin

I had a friend jump out of the bomb doors on one of those. They are slow. So is a C-123 but it is a heckuva lot of fun to exit that tailgate!! :thumbsup:thumbsup

DC-3's are pretty darn ear piercing as well. :ack

If I remember correctly what I've >R-E-A-D<(:skep) about D-Day... both B-17s and B-24 Liberators WERE used to hit the Normandy coast. But, I'd hafta look it up to be sure...

I totally get where you are coming from. I have quite a few cars and I have different levels of comfort with each of them. I honestly, have a couple that make me nervous each time I drive them. It depends on ease of controls, visibility, reliability etc. With the FGT I love driving it because its reliable as can be, it has better visibility than any other exotic that I've driven, The controls are smooth etc. My DeTomaso beats me to death. I come home hot and sweaty and a nervous wreck. I happen to love cars. Not just a little but REALLY love cars. TO me I'd rather be playing with my cars than just about anything else. Someday I won't have to work anymore and I'll just get to play with my cars. Been that way since three years old. To me driving is fun. The better the car the more fun it is. I do get frustrated when driving in the city and people box me in to look at the car. I miss turns, off ramps etc because I cant get over. Otherwise I love seeing people enjoy seeing the cars.

After giving your post some deep thought I have decided (and talked to the wife) that we will store, wax, drive on occasion and take extreemly good care of you DeTomaso. I don't offer this to just anyone, but considering it is the best Pantera in the world. I will make this exception and do this just for you. :thumbsup

I can even take care of the transport :)

To think someone would actually make such a selfless personal SACRIFICE as that is truely astonishing. You are a cedit to this forum, tp! My hat is off to you - or WOULD be if I were wearing one! :lol:lol:lol :cheers
