Who has been to Austria?

Atomic,

While in Salzburg we will be staying in that family's old house, the Von Trapp family mansion (Villa Trapp). Now that the Nazi's are no longer using it, a portion of it can be rented. The hills are alive.....and all that rot. A lot of great ideas on this thread thanks to the GT Forum travel advisory board!

Make sure you wear the same suit you are wearing in the picture and get another family photo of the von Beck Family Singers! Consider the train (IC ZUG, Intercity Zugs, these are the fast trains and make few stops) from either Vienna to Salzburg, or Salzburg to Vienna. Hotel Imperial in Vienna has one of the most famous lobbies in Europe, also headquarters for the Third Reich in Vienna. The steps in front of the parliment building and the Pallas Athena are WWII places in 1938. St. Stephen's church is incredible and Beethoven's apartment in Vienna a must. Not sure if it is opera time, but that is a big deal, black tie, etc. You would look good in one.

I will PM you an interesting historical web site on Vienna during WWII

Here we are!
