Wheels for the GT!! What to do??

I really like my BBS Forged wheels for the GT - I just wish they were 1 or 2" bigger so I could fit better tires!

So I need to get some new wheels and tires for the GT - ideally Black. I must admit to not really caring for the HRE "Split-Rim" style wheels with the polished lip and separate centres. I much prefer "MonoBlock" style wheels - but it seems HRE only make these for Lambo's/Ferraris's and Astons etc (why not for the GT eh guys?)

I quite like the "Geiger" wheels for the GT - but they are a bit steep at $9k inc tires (and I'm not entirley sure about the chrome "flash"!) :

I just wish i could get some HRE's or something else in this style - these are HRE M40's in Black - designed for Ferrari 599 etc:

These are OK - sort of half-way house - but still too much "lip" for my liking:

Can anyone recommend any other wheel manufacturers who make something similar in Monoblock style that will fit the GT?? Post pics if you can!!

Thanks!!

....oh and by the way.anyone know what shocks/springs are on that Geiger car??

Thanks Joe. I have had a quick look and will do more work - most of them seem to do the polished lip style though.

Anyone heard of 360Forged??? They seem to do a very ncie Carbon Fibre wheel - looks like it can be made in various sizes and styles?

The Geiger wheels don't seem to come out far enough on the front and I agree they need to be all black.

I bought Kenisis for the Viper years ago.....very well made and I'm sure they'll do the rims in black or whatever your choice.

This is the look I'm going for.

Lee,

Looks like we have similar tastes!

That black car ("the look you're going for") is, I believe, the one and the same "Geiger" car after it had the Matt stripes fitted - so the wheels in the "action" shot are the same as the static shot above.

I think the KW suspension kit will lower by 1.8" which I think should be enough for me! - and again is the same kit fitted to the Black car.

I was was told by HRE that they will make any of the Ferrari Monoblock line for the FGT.

Call Jason Heffner! He can get you any HRE design you want PLUS do it in the centerbolt single lug nut for the win :biggrin

Dealmaker did you find a source to buy the Geiger wheels. I was interested in them also.

HRE will make you monoblocks for the GT.

Yup, HRE customs to do monoblocks. THere were some issues (a LOT) with 360 forged, so, FWIW, I'd stay away from those.

Only directly from Geiger in Germany:

Isn't decent sticky rubber an issue with 20's let alone 21's?

the 335/30/20 PS2s are stickier than the stock Goodyears IMO

What does everyone use on those massive 22's they are running??............Pirelli SUV tyres??? :eek

I hadn't even noticed this thread but I contacted them and HRE will make you a 19 X 9 front and 20 x 12.5 rear in the M40 monoblok. Don't steal my idea!!!

Thanks DBK.

Is the 9x19 the best option for the front or is 20" too big??

Anyone got any idea on cost of a set of m40's??

Personally, I would not run 20 on the fronts but I'm waiting for word from a driving dynamics guy on which tires will least upset the factory balance. I think 19/20 is a good looking combo, and if they'd make them, I'd go 19's all around so I could run Pilot Cup Sports. 20/22 is a bit outlandish for me and it can't be light.

I can't imagine these will be inexpensive, but I'm not sure on the exact cost.

Pirelli now makes the PZero in 315/25/22

Because of that, I am considering going to 20/22s for my street setup. I did not want to run the SUV tires.

BTW, MSRP on the HRE Monobloks is $1500 a wheel for 20s and just a little less for 19s, so a set should be just under 6 grand. They are expensive for one piece wheels but cheaper than other HREs I guess. You should be able to get them under MSRP from a friendly HRE dealer.

I am also considering the P/M47 if they will make them for the GT.

Too many choices. I cannot make up my mind.

Wow, that is a big wheel! You're not worried about potholes and road hazards doing in the 22s?
