Every third Saturday the Dupont Registry sponsors cars & coffee over at his offices and car musuem in St. Petersburg. I met Tom Dupont last week, and he told me to bring the GT over. It goes from 7:00 am to 9:00 am. A little early for a Saturday, but I made it over about 8:15. I had the only GT there and it was a big hit amongst about 15 Ferraris, a Viper, two Lambo's (Gallardo vert, Murcillago (sp) ) a couple vettes and some custom stuff. All in all about 30 cars there. I also brought my GT350 Supercharged clone, which is usually a hit. The GT and the GT350 seemed to draw the most onlookers, which was neat. There were five or six F430's including two ragtops, and they are drop dead gorgeous. I can see why people lust after these. The expensive lambo was impressive with the scissors doors a V12 and a huge door sill to climb over. Like a dunce, I forgot my camera.
I talked to Tom Dupont for about half an hour this morning and he seems like a super nice guy. A serious car fanatic. I am now going up to a car show in Palm Harbor, which is about 25 minutes north of me. I'm going to take the Cobra up there as we have perfect top down cruising weather here. Plus I wouldn't want to leave the GT unattended while I'm walking the show. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday.
Hope you are all having a great weekend.
