A few weeks ago I have posted a message about a crashed Heritage #35 in Russia - well after certain negotiations I have purchased the car (what is left of it). The car had less than 900 miles

The damage of the car is the following - Imagine a tree in the position of the passanger door/seat - the dash and the whole right side from front - passanger door is gone. Rear end is totally fine, engine and tranny were untouched. The left side is 100% fine. The front and rear bumpers are gone, radiators in the front are ok.
Knowing the prices and the problems with getting spare parts for the GT I have decided to buy it for parts -
Out of the big things now I have an almost new:
Engine, Tranny, Suspension, clamshell, brakes, radiators, left door, left front, left and rigth lights, radiators, driver seat, and a whole bunch of other small things.
Do you think 40k $ was a good deal for all this?

Another thought that I have in mid is maybe rebuilding the car :)
Is it possible to get a new body/frame from Ford? because out of major things - all it needs is the frame, right door, dash and passenger seat. If I can Find the frame - then maaybe #35 will be brougt back to life (with a TT set up of-course) :)

the parts alone are worth more then $40K. the main issue would be if you're thinking about rebuilding it would be the frame. the SRP on a new frame is now over $80K to replace. (US $$)

you should contact the gt guys .they know all!!

If I recall correctly, the engine ALONE costs $40K+ new. So, oh ya! I'd say it was a "good deal" for all those parts!!!:banana

I'd forget the rebuild option though. You could buy another 'sound' car for much less than what fixing the parts car would cost.

Sounds like a great deal for parts, especially if getting parts to Russia is difficult.
Seems easier to keep for parts than to try to rebuild.

Agree that the rebuild would be a major task that probably would not be worth the effort, but you got a smoking deal on parts alone. Congrats on your new GT parts. :cheers

BTW....you know you should always post a couple of pics of a new GT purchase. :wink

I think I saw a complete frame on ebay for "buy it now @ $10,000.00" but it was probably close to a year ago - wonder where that frame ended up ?

Australia and ended up selling for more than 25000.00. Cost on a frame at ford is about 48000 right now, plus frieght to you, list is 80000.00. You will spend a easy 80000.00 to fix the car, but 120000 is cheap for a heritage.

But, unfortunately it will always be a repaired GT.........would you take that one to the texas mile?

From the little I know, I believe frames are all but gone,(sold) DBK would know if there are any to be had.

Good luck with the purchase, I believe this car is worth every penny and then some in parts alone.

If it had a new frame or was repaired correctly it would not scare me one bit. I do not have a problem with salvage title vehicles as long as i know who is fixing them.

Good going Alex. When you first posted about the car awhile back, I was thinking it would be great for parts. :thumbsup

I would rather keep the parts... Nevertheless you can buy a new frame from Matech Racing. Get in touch with them. If you need help or contact infos PM me.

Desi, did you put your new vents on? Are you as pleased as I am?
