Welcome Guide Arrvied

Brian
I think it's time for us to talk to the dealer again. What do you think buddy?
Ernie

yes sir,, let's talk this week.. B.

Another question Dave, have all the letters gone out to those who have an allocation ?

Honestly don't know, but my suspicion is "no" based on what I've seen people with allocations saying.

It's in the brochure but there will be a bunch of considerations on when cars get delivered. For example, they will not be delivering cars to cold weather climates in the dead of winter, they will try and ship cars to the same geographic area when they can, they will be trying to be as efficient as possible in batching orders based on option preferences, etc. In 05/06, it was pretty common to see batches of cars with the same paint jobs all going down the line at SSV at the same time. Will be the case here as well. Would also assume some options like extended color palette will probably delay your timeline a bit, especially if you want something complex.

Trust the Ford team and trust the process. The buyer has the leverage and with all of the smart successful people on here there will be plenty of well respected dealers who would fight for the opportunity to gain some very good customers. Just my 2 cents.

Now you're talkin'!

Ok, I think that I am seeing the big picture here. First your worried about the dealer charging you over sticker and then you would like to beat him up on price. Now,I know who invented the one way sign. I just want to follow this thread 2 years from now.

ouch!

Look, let me state this unequivocally, you will be buying your car at MSRP.

WHEW! This has been weighing heavily on my mind. Ever since when the 05's first came out and and the only GT in my area was sold at 120% over MSRP
to someone from the local tribe with casino royalty's. That same dealer must be salivating at the idea of selling the new car. Thank you Dave, thank you!!

Good enough for me! Thanks Dave.

I m pleased and feel fortunate to have an allocation and a bonus to purchase one at MSRP!
The question is where to purchase. Many dealers can sell the NGT by applying to Ford and a nominal fee. However those who will become a service center will have a significant investment (special trailer, tools, designated area and mechanics training)! Therefore most will be in an urban area. I have purchased various Fords in the past at various local dealers to spread the business around in a small rural community. (all patients of mine!) I always felt buy local and when servicing is required the dealer who you bought it from will always give you better service. My problem is the none of them would become a servicing center , just does not make economic sense.
I would prefere to purchase from a servicing dealer to establish a relationship. I hope there will be a list of servicing dealers available to contact

Do we know what the base MSRP is at this point?

Joe

Mid 400s means exactly what it sounds like it does.

Come on you cheap skates. What's $30K-50k-250K among fiends. LOL

The Welcome Guide is worded the way it is to comply with franchise laws. Ford cannot interfere with the retail sale of the vehicle. What they can and did do was give the allocation to the customer so the customer controls which dealer will sell. I can assure you that Ford has dealers who will deliver all 1000 cars at MSRP if necessary. It's that simple, so no one should give a second thought to whether the cars will sell at MSRP. I'm more interested in knowing whether I can negotiate a deal under MSRP. Ha

Maybe you could if you bought a few other cars from them at the same time!

I talked to my dealer today, he assured me that they would not charge over MSRP. He has also filed the paper work to be a servicing dealer too.

Gentlemen,

I think this whole thing has gone great. Buying the new GT at MSRP is excellent. I can't wait to get mine home.

I get back just in time to head to Lincoln road mall to watch the lovely Halloween outfits go by. Been hunting all week and met up with these two. Perhaps some of you may recognize the mugs

Frank looks like he is holding something behind his back. Be careful.

This thread needs pictures of a car with carbon fiber wheels:

Is that the Ingot silver from the standard colors? It looks lighter in that photo compared to the configurator.

Dr Frank - don't have too much fun! Save some for our Chicago Auto Show get-together in February!

Ed

PS Isn't this thread on the Welcome Kit?

Yes, welcome to the Ingot Silver that is actually lighter than the color in the configurator.
