So it still has the original clutch--have you been easy on it to make it last, or just drive it normally and launch it hard once in awhile?Pete, none to date. Just routine by the book maintenance. Drive it, get it dirty, clean it. And repeat.
Rasied a few more dollars for our Children's Hospital this weekend. Took 12 donating friends for about a total of 110 miles at the track this week. They got a 140 mph ride and the uncompensated heart care fund got another cash donation. Everybody wins with a GT.
I'll see if I can get a few photo's. My friend Doug K. & I went out together a few times. His GT is a 1966 historic race car. His passengers loved the "OMG god that GT is on fire" experience and my passengers loved the "lets see how fast we could play catch up to the blue GT" on the straight aways. Fun stuff for sure.

Pete- I changed from stock to a Stillen clutch when I had the 3.9 ring gear installed in January, 2009. At that time mileage was 30k. Almost no wear on the original clutch, some thing like 98% of new. And the flywheel didn't need resurfacing. I was told then, that this was the only GT that had been through their shop that didn't need either a new flywheel or needed to be resurfaced. So to answer your question, I drive normal. Not much abuse to the drive train. That's one reason I get 15k+ miles on the rear tires.
I've roughly gotten 80k on the Stillen HD clutch. No issues at all. I've just started to notice a little bit of notchyness when cold. Once warmed up it's just fine. Been thinking about replacement with a new one next year.
Hope to see you at Carlisle next June. And at Rally X in Dearborn.
You need to pass 1,000,000 to start the clock over again by next rally. With only 1or 2 miles on the odometer you would have one of the lowest mileage FGT's in the country! : )
