I just had to get this off my chest and since this is the off topic section and you guys have such great insight I thought I would unload here....

I do not play tennis, alot of golf but no tennis, but love the sport for it's shot making and momentum swings. I usually catch the big tournaments each year on TV. I thought the introduction of grunting/screaming/crying with each hit took some away from the sport but have become acclimated to that. Can you imagine a golfer doing this with each swing. HAAHAA. But yesterday as I watched the finals of the US Open I was really disapointed in the fans. I am OK with some shouting between sets, but they were shouting while the players were serving and even during the points. I know, New York Fans love to be loud, but please let them compete. Several times during the match I wanted the chair umpire to warn those certain fans that kept doing this and then eject them. After a few were escorted out I bet it would have been a little more correct. I love avid fans, I am one also when my teams are winning. I am a Houston Astro fan so no yelling this year. But, I still try to respect the game and the players.

Sorry for the soap box, I just needed to unload somewhere.

Lotta blowhards in NYC.

They act tough at sports events b/c security is there; on streets they would get lead if they tried that.

See youtube for some meathead who was told to shut it last year, picked fight with 60yr old and his daughter. Whole stands piled on the meathead.

The racket (sorry!) tennis fans make doesn't hold a candle to the "Tomahawk Chop" and the goofy 'chant' that goes with THAT. THAT really, REALLY drives me up the wall. I flat out refuse to watch any Braves game because of it. :mad

'Couldn't agree more with the grunting and shouting on every stroke, BTW. 'Very annoying.
