Anyone have any suggestions for track tires? I have spare set of rims that need skins. Thanks, KO

P zero corsa. Kicks ass, compared to Goodyears...

I have been tracking my car, but haven't found anyone making a R compound or better. Please post if you find a someone making such.

Tom

I think the P zero corsa are better than the Goodyears, but I don't think they come in the same sizes yet.

are you all looking for DOT type tires or slicks?

I looked last summer for each, but couldn't find anything in the right size.

I ran both Pirelli Pzero Corsa's and Michelin Pilot Sport Cups on my Ferrari 360 Modena. The Michelin pilot Sport Cups were 1 second faster around Limerock than the PZero Corsas. Granted it was a different day and all but I do prefer the Michelins. I just got a GT and will put Pilot Sport Cups on it (if I find the right size)

Hoosier supposedly has tires availble for the front and rears will be available in approximately early March.

if interested i will contact my rep at goodyear. let me know

barondw and I have heard the same thing. I was told 2 weeks ago Hoosier track rubber was on the way...

I also have used Michelin cups on my GT3, but I contacted Michelin and was told they won't be making the cups in the GT's size. I'm waiting to see what hoosier will offer.

DOT approved? Important issue for road use and liability issue. Many of the race tires for autox and open track are DOT approved.

Would be great if its the A3S05 or R3S05... DOT aproved road slicks...

HO HO HO Hossier!!

Don't know if the Hoosiers will be DOT approved. As you can imagine the real problem is why would any manufacturer create a tire in GT size since the market is so small.

Then make the market smaller by making a slick or competition tire.

Fingers crossed but...

There is a lot of rim, I wonder if you can go slightly larger?

So what about going larger? Anyone done the calculations, and checked tire availability? I have run all sorts of times on my viper, and I actually prefer the Michellen Pilot Sports. So what pilot sports will fit best on the stock rims?

Here is a cool tool, to make sure you stay with the same rolling radius (good for keeping ABS normal and Speedo correct):

Any suggestions, if someone gave me the stock/option wheel sizes, or could verify what I already think they are: 9x18 fronts and 11.5x19 I think I could probably come up with the max tire allowable on the wheel and keep abs and speedo accurate.

Thanks.
