i see that they have 8 Ford GT's registered for this event. is anybody from this site gonna race their GT at this event this weekend? i would go but Florida is to far for me. apparently they are gonna let cars run 1.5 miles in distance during the afternoon. a TT GT should be able to hit 250 mph in 1.5 miles......

1.5 mile run. God, I can feel the adreneline pumping already.

If this was not so close to the Texas Mile I would consider doing it......especially the 1.5 distance. 250 is not out of the question with 1000ish whp.

last time i checked the highest elevation anywhere in Florida is a mere 171 feet above sea level. this track in mid March has the potential to produce a world record when you consider that their track length is in excess of 1 mile in length. the longer distance would be easier on parts in some respects believe it or not; but the HIGHER speeds attained as a result of the increased distance would make for a worse wreck if one were to occur......

proper aero, suspension and alignment is a must at these speeds :cool

in short if you have Twin Turbos you are gonna need to lower the front of your car to get more rake in it and you are gonna need stiffer springs and shocks in the rear :thumbsup

I'm going.. 1.5 miles might be too far on that strip,, if you run hard that distance you may be in the weeds with out a shut...

Hi back guys!! The heck with 190's GTED, TC and Monica are going to represent the Mojave Mile crew by each banging out a 200mph run once they move the line to 1.25 miles!!! Seeing is believing, and I believe they will make it happen. :thumbsup

Sorry to miss this thread. I posted a few of the other threads but missed this one. We really appreciated the positive thoughts, I think it is what got the job done for us here.
Monica did 192.9 and a second run at 190.
I did several runs between 195 and 197 trying to figure out the magic combo to get to 200 in the mile. When they stretched it to 1.25, I ran 202.5 :thumbsup They were only giving one shot each for the 1.25 mile.
Monica was a bit nervous with slowing down because of the different markers made it difficult to know where to stop so she just wanted to ride on the second run we got for 1.25 miles. We ended up with just over 201. The car was getting pretty high up on the rpms in 5th and I wonder if I could have picked up a couple more by shifting to 6th? Great fun! Wish you could have been here!
