Gentlemen,

Today is my 54th birthday but when I woke up this morning, something else entirely was on my mind. Last year on this day I received a birthday greeting from Daniel Bonyhadi. The next day, one year ago tomorrow, our good friend died in a tragic accident. So I sat and reflected for a while this morning, reading old posts and looking at old photographs of our Moderator Emeritus. Tomorrow is a sad anniversary but I can't let it go by without mention.

Take a moment, and watch the two short videos linked below. We miss you Dan.

When you look at the balance of our small personal universe.....and then, the bullshit, the conflicts in service organizations, the petty bickering in business. And then out of the blue, get an email like the one I just received from the wife of one of my best friends, who is coincidentally going through chemo himself..... it causes one reflect on true balance, and be appreciative of what one has. We give too much free rent in our minds to insignificant things and people.

God Bless America,

Daniel

It seems like such a crazy thing that a bunch of guys with some car can become close on the internet, and everyone knows what a giant life Bony had outside this website, but that's just the way it is. This world could use a lot more people like Daniel Bonyhadi and hopefully everyone took a little piece of that with them from R IV. He's gone but not forgotten, and he'll be with us at every Rally until there are no more Rallies to be had. Rest in peace, and of course, God Bless America. :usa

........upon reflection, I believe there is one best final resting place for Daniel Bonyhadi. Because in this place, across any span of time or distance, Daniel can return to us, with an answer, some historical perspective, or a humorous caustic comment that makes us smile. The one best final resting place for our dear friend Daniel, is in the hearts of his good friends assembled here tonight, and that is where we lay him to rest.

God bless you Daniel.
We love you brother.
And God Bless America.

Chip

'Still unbelievable. :frown

'Can't believe he passed a whole year ago. 'Seems like last month...

Rest in peace, Dan'l.

thank you for the reminder, Chip. I cant believe its been almost a year

100% agreed, this brings up some fantastic memories along with indefinite sadness.

Rest in Peace Daniel !

Thanks for the reminder Chip!

I didn't realize how much I got used to looking at my Bony memorial sticker. I used to touch it and say hi to Dani whenever I got in my car. And sometimes I would look at the sticker and talk to Dani, telling him about my day or sharing good (or not-so-good) news with him. That sticker peeled off little by little over the past week. To avoid losing it, today it got moved from the outside window to my passenger seat, where he will be my passenger until I get a new sticker. For some reason, seeing him there makes me smile and brings back memories of a very excited girl with a HUGE grin on her face driving a certain white GT up and down the PCH with Dani looking on from the passenger seat. :wink

You will be in our hearts and minds forever Dani. God Bless America! :usa:usa:usa

Very well said Chip. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of my dearly misses Friend Daniel. I visit with him often since his passing and always remember his wisdom, seriousness, comic statements and true love of his forum Friends. He will always be on my mind and let us always keep Lorna in our thoughts and prayers. God Bless You Daniel and God Bless The USA Tomy Hamon

I felt that Bony was always living in the moment. That if you were in front of him, he was thinking about and talking just to you, no matter what was going on in and around him.

That's really the way it should be. Sadly, in so many of our daily interactions, we lose sight of the value of direct human interaction, and don't always make the most of those we encounter.

I had the feeling that Bony was very deliberate and thoughtful and respectful.

It was very hard to see him go, but now, when I look on the past, and think of Bony, I have the best of thoughts and memories about an extraordinary person.

Bony, you are greatly missed. I miss the crazy emails, the phone calls and the sound of your GT as I tried to keep up with you. You gave us some great memories. God Bless America :usa
