Is there any consensus on the value of such an application? Intuitively I can see the appeal of shielding the stripes from small dings or chips, but I have no idea how long it lasts or how it will look.

I just had the venture shield clear armour installed on my White/Blue GT. It looks fabulous (you can hardly see it) and it has a lifetime gaurantee against lifting, orange peeling, or anything else. I highly recommend it for anyone that wants to enjoy the car with less worry about road rash, etc. PD

I have the thermoplastic coating "all over the place". :biggrin
And will add more next Monday. You can hardly tell. PM me I live close, if you want to see it before you do it. But, I have no painted stripes. I did coat my side stripe, hood, mirrors,deflectors, lights, around filler cap....... :thumbsup
