I told Rich he should make this post, but since he's on vacation...

Spring is here. For some of us, that means finally getting our cars out. For others, that means just another GT month in some far off sun drenched paradise. In either case, it brings the likelihood of more gatherings, more trips, and more GT miles.

It's not like anyone needs to be reminded, but so far this month, 7 freshly wrecked Ford GTs have come across my email. 5 of them were totaled. 5 of them were Ford GT Forum member cars (ouch). Last time I was at Rich's shop, there were 13 Ford GTs there. At least half of them were there in pieces as they waited for various panels and parts to get repaired and replaced.

These are incredibly capable cars. For some people like Roketman or Specracer, they are just another utility tool in the hands of a supremely capable driver. That's not the case for most of us. Even if it was, much better drivers than most of us have proven that even the best get bitten. Cool days, cold tires, lots of horsepower, a lack of recalibration after months of driving 6000 lb SUVs, etc.

Just thought I'd make mention of the already high volume of cars that have been crashed this month. We see so many people going so fast in these things that we become speed blind. The terms "safe" and "easy" often seem to be used interchangeably. You can definitely apply the latter to going fast in these cars. I wouldn't necessarily apply the former. "Safe" is a relative term. We're all taking calculated risks here, and some are doing so with a false sense of security.

So that's the PSA. Happy motoring, and may the force be with you.

:thumbsup

When I saw the header I thought you were reminded us to have a prostate test. (that's the way you start to think when you hit 50)

GTDRUMMER, I swear I thought the same thing.........I am Gino Lucci........:frown
Well maybe we can start a new thread, FORD GT FORUM COLON AWARENESS DAY :eek

You know what , we let stu do the test with gloves signed by Camillo and we will be the healthiest car club around, you get to keep the gloves....:lol:lol:lol:lol
On anothe rnote, just ask GTJIMMY, who made 25 feet in his first GT , dont drive them on cold tires, on a bad day work and weather wise.....you will always lose, always...110 percent when driving the GT , it must be respected at all times....
gtjoey1314 with b12 on hand.......:biggrin

Folks google Psa tests it's been proven to have little benefit and massive harm...not far from butchery.

Most major cancer authorities have debunked it; and it will be in quackery list soon

On GT

It took me about 1hr to get use to the GT last drive. Quickness of steering, pedal, Lullness of cockpit, etc.

Build up you bearings in first 5 drives.

Thank you Dave. It is sad to hear of so many of these wonderful cars being bent, broken or destroyed. No chance of driving mine for a while....rain, rain and more rain is the forecast. If rain isnt enough, we have had tornadoes in the area, and hail. I am sure Dr Frank can relate.

Not to further hijack but experts are all over the place on PSA tests. As a lawyer who has represented companies in pharma cases I can find experts who will disagree over any issue. Yes, the PSA can show false positives, and create angst and painful further testing, but folks with readings North of 4 can get the benefit of early detection like my brother did ( and he also happens to be a medical doctor )

No question it is a mixed bag but I would not totally discount it.

Couldn't agree more. It can be life saving. Most real experts, not economists think it saves lives, and preserves quality of life if used appropriately.

Take it from one who knows -

Yes, your PSA results can vary all over the map. I know friends with numbers up to 40 :eek but who have no cancer. However, if higher than 4, it is still a good signaling device to have a biopsy performed which will tell you if cancer tumors are present, and the degree to which they have developed. Prostate cancer is a very slow growing cancer, but that doesn't mean that it should be ignored. Once you know your levels, you can make your own decisions from there, as to the form of therapy, or watchful waiting, that you wish to pursue.

Good luck to all of you, and have a Happy Easter Sunday - :thumbsup

You wreck your GT your going to need your ass examined so PSA is spot on

Good one Raceman. FYI, PSA helps follow recurrences and metastasis folowing treatment for prostatic carcinoma.

I have prostrate cancer and I am doing fine. If you want more information on removal vs seeds or studies that are in process just PM me. My wife told me to buy my GT because I wanted that car since it came out.

She is a great wife. Billy

Great to hear Billy.

Beautiful day today, but a tit nipply 32 deg. Took the GT out for lunch to exercise the gaskets. I proceed to the north forty of the parking lot, as usual, to avoid the herd of mini vans. As I was leaving from my isolated spot, not in a hurry, not hard on the throttle, I basically drifted across the lot at 10-15 mph.:eek I circled back to see if there was oil on the asphalt. Nope.

I realize it is not yet spring, but this thread immediately popped into my mind.

Great.. the forum is in my head.

Careful boys.
