Time / Newsweek are truly sad. They used to be great magazines, and have now been reduced via USA-today'ization to Adult comics/news catalogs.
I remember reading both cover to cover on Tuesdays when they were delivered by mail as a teenager. The cover story on Iacoccoa was a pivotal moment in my life, when i decided a business career was worth pursuing.
His quote on the Mustang: "to produce a car, that you would be proud to take to the dragstrip on a friday night, to the country club on saturday and chrurch on sunday for a REASONABLE price" was one of the best pieces of marketing I ever heard.. The key was the reasonable price, as expensive european makes could do that easily.
The cars they missed:
Mustang
Jeep
Rabbit
Vette
