I ordered a Heffner exhaust today. I spoke with Jason last week, he's a great guy. I didn't order it directly because I deal with a performance car store in Calgary, Tunerworks. They ordered it for me as I wanted them to install the Heff with the Ford pulley.

..So thanks to the forum, I was "this close" to purchasing a Tubi, but after reading the positives on the Heffner I couldn't resist.

Tubi is a piece of art, but replace the factory exhaust with a similar unit that would give off a the same amount of heat would not be a great move. You will be happy with the Heffner x pipe.

Someone I know has two GT's (had, one wrote off) - both have/had Tubi. It sounds great, I really like it - but it's just not as dramatic as I would like. I think the Heffner will be just the ticket based on what I've heard on the internet.

The Heffner is a little loud for my tastes, however, I've heard that baffles can be installed. Has anyone here installed his muffler with the baffles?

Ideally, I'd like something that was halfway betwen stock & the (open piped) Heffner. Does the Tubi fit the bill?

It has been posted that the baffles didn't make much of a diffference. I think the Borla fits your description.

I have the stillen .sounds the way a fgt should!!!
Music to my ears!!

I'm gun shy on the Borla as I had them on my Viper & hated it.

Mark, I looked at the Tubi. Like Bony said, it's a piece of metal art sculpture, like all their exhausts for Ferrari, etc. (www.tubistyleusa.com) Made in Italy so it's pricy at $3,800, due in part to the Euro to $ exchange rate. It's also highly polished 304 SS so will discolor with heat cycles. It has a "can" type muffler so likely will sound similar to the Ford Racing (Borla) which is a nice compromise to the louder X and H pipes. The weight saving is 32 pounds ... 28 for the Tubi vs. approx. 60 for the stock FGT unit.

I've decided to stay stock. It sounds pretty good and I can still hear the stereo if I want to listen to tunes while at speed. And as you know, I'm trying to keep the car as OEM as possible.
