Its not a 2013, a 2012, and $149k added to the price of the car?? Am I the only one scratching my head?? Guess at least you might be able to get a deal on a left over '12, to "donate" to the effort??!!

One of my local buddies picked up a 12 for 8 off of sticker. $49K.

Getting this crazy with a Shelby remins me of the Hennessey Camaro with an LS9 in it. You could buy a ZR1 for what it costs to build. $200 large could buy a very fast low mile GT.

I don't get it either....and I love the GT500s :confused

does it come with a warranty? :)

I doubt it, the 700 HP did not.

Why didn't Ford standardize on the use of Kenne Bell for the GT500 from the get go?

A Photoshop wheelie...

How lame :bs

I was thoroughly impressed at the Shelby 50th Bash with HP these cars are coming with. The 2011 GT350R's put 600+HP to the rears, I chased two of them around the track in Vegas and they are very fast fars. I have a Heffner Pulley and Tune. Another friend has a 2008 Supersnake Convertible that puts 634HP to the ground, just mean mean cars out there, I may have to get one....

I really doubt the usuage of this HP in this car. I've got a 2011 supersnake with 750 and a real handfull trying to use this power. When playing with a R8 V10, which was slighly tweaked, I had all trouble to keep up. Mine was drifting from side to side, understear, overstear.... This chasis isn't made for this HP.

What tires are you using and what is your suspension set up? Once you get a GT500 to this power level you are "all in" and can't get by with anything other than the stickiest R compound tires and ultra stiff suspension. I don't believe the Supersnake has either. Shelby attempts to keep the Supersnake somewhat civilized because that is what the typical buyer wants. It doesn't work, performance wise.

I've spent a fair amount of money on my 710rwhp GT500 and traction is not a problem. However, I get about 1500-2000 miles out of rear tires and my car rides like a Conestoga wagon. Are you willing to put up with this to show that V10 R8 who is boss?

I'm using michelin pilot super sport and kw suspension. It's a lot better and really a lot than before but still not sufficient to handle this car. I've got 295 in the rear and a buddy 305 but still not sufficient. My GT makes much more power but is easy to handle.

One stop shopping for the ultimate Mustang suspension:
