Hi gang
I was casually perusing my '05 GT brochure and I noticed that it says
the standard radio on the GT is a Rockford Fosgate AM/FM stereo with single CD /MP3 player . But I bought a late '06 (July build) GT (SN 1FAFP90S56Y-401698) with the standard radio
which says FXD 885 GD on it. I punched that alphanumerical code into
search on google and that says it is a Sanyo

So my question is: did any '05's go out the factory door with Rockfords? And if so, til what month did they offer them?

Thanks so I can clear up this confusion..

It was Sanyo from the start as far as I know. The Rockford was in the pre-prod car but I never heard of a production car that had it. Kind of glad. I have the Sanyo, but luckily it doesn't say Sanyo on the faceplate :lol I looked it up and I think the unit was made for them by Eclipse if I'm not mistaken...

Sanyo. Option was Big Mac(Intosh).

Fosgate couldn't cough up the numbers needed for production, so at the last minute, the Sanyo was substituted. Only a small percentage of cars have this radio, most having the Mac.

Thanks guys. It's a shame that the Rockford Fosgate wasn't used, as I did see a photo of it lit at night in a magazine article and it had an exciting look as far as face lighting was concerned. When it really came down to brass tacks, the dealers all seemed to load the cars up with every single option, to raise the price of the car. The actual number of cars built with the base radio is pretty low, and Fosgate probably could have met the demand.
