Does anyone know if the prototype rims are available or have any information on the prototype rims? What wheel manufactures are available for the GT's? I love my GT, but I would like to acquire rims different from my BBS rims. At SEMA, I saw a tungsten GT which had standard wheels painted a gunmetal color; it looked sweet. I stopped at the BBS booth and they had no options for different rims. Most other manufactures did not make anything specifically for the GT, which I would expect due to the limited run. Any help appreciated.

Go with a custom wheel, like HRE or Iforged. I have Iforged on mine, and they used my car for all the measurements, so all you need to do is order them.:wink

I also have Iforged on mine and am very happy with the quality. I was also not impressed with the Pontiac Trans Am look of my BBS wheels. In my opinion, different wheels are a must and money well spent.

Rocman,
Do you have contact at Iforged ?

I got IFORGED on mine. Great wheels. No Problems.

Dymag carbon wheels are also available in our sizes. They are about $8000 a set though.

The prototypes were on a basic 3-pice BBS race wheel with titanium center sections. It was the basic mesh center. That is still used in trans-am and other forms of racing. At Ford most early prototypes use this style rim until the time a production style wheel is available for development work.

The BBS guys you spoke with at SEMA. May not have offered up this wheel.
As it requires the regular inspection and care that only a racer will give it. This rim is the lightest in its price range. But the crack inspection process is not what a street driven wants to deal with.
