Renntech Modifications to SL 65 Black Series

Does anyone here have any experience with the Renntech guys in fla.

I am considering buying one of their horsepower and torque upgrades for my sl 65 black series. Basically a redo of the ecu, tcu, upgraded intercoolers, transmission and exhaust. Brings the car to 800 hp and 1000lbs of torque.


Really looking to get feedback on their work and their repuation. Thanks in advance

I have heard very good things about them. Very expensive but par for the course when modifying German cars. They have a tune I am going to get for a Mini Cooper I am buying my wife. 1000 ft/lbs torque-
what a monster.

Sinovac- For a second there, I thought you were getting a 1000 ft/lbs torque tune for the Mini!

First check which gearbox is in there. Some of them are blocked to 650nm torque.

its the 5 speed automatic. renntech re does the tcu and modified the internal parts of the transmission.

still love the gt, but this engine and setup is a beast....

You're lucky. I got an 2012 Sls roadster with the 7speed Getrag. A tuner installed a supercharger system and need to limit the performance because the gearbox goes into limp mode. At full throttle the gearbox doesn't even notice the power increase and allways at medium throttle the alarm. Such a petty as that mill has so much potential

I hear you. The 5 speed is "old school" but it can handle the power. Thats why they have it in that car.

The shop is in close contact wih MB to try to override the torque problem. This seems only as of 2012 sls as before that mb had lots of problems with the car. It's not reasonable I shot be driving it at WOT all the time. Hope she comes back this week. Did you do something on the suspension or is that not an issue?

Just received back the sl 65 amg back with renntech package. 800 hp and 1000 lb torque. All I can say is wow!!!! I love it. Its tame when you want it to be but when you get on it.... Its nothing like anything I have driven before
