Would that last one be the last race Phil Hill won with the Chaparral? Couldn't see the date on it - but that was Phil's last race and victory - the BOAC 500 at Brands Hatch in England in 1967. Phil had the distinction of winning the first and last races of his career.
Yes, this is the '67 BOAC Race w. Phil Hill, attached is the smaller box-office/tube version.
Its a famous poster for having the Lola, GT40, Porsche 906 and Chaparral in succession on the track, done by the famous Michael Turner
The pitch/angle of graphics, logos, flags, checkerboard, and details make this a winner.
I searched hi & low for this; I ordered it in Aug and it showed up today. The seller sent me a second one as it was thought to be lost; I inspected both and they are original and in excellent shape.
I just dropped it off at the framers and its really a stunning piece; its a huge print at 24x40 and colors are brilliant. I have viewed 1000 prints and this has it all: bold colors, famous track, race, racer and......the GT40.
So I was browsing for some stuff for my daily driver the other day and came across a shop with some wall art. I noticed the front cover from across the store, and thought "what is that looking so familiar?" Quite impressive in sort of a morbid way.
Check this out as I found it in an old storage building of my Dad's and I know he attended the 1968 Indy 500 so must have brought it back. Thought it was kind of cool as apparently he has had it for 44 years
