race gas vs octaine boost

???????????

I don't know what you guys are so worked up about ... I run good ol' 87 octane "regular" in mine ... and it's boosted my MPG to 31 on the highway...:party

E.P.

Does anyone know if any tuner will come out with a switchable program, like they do on Porsches. I would love to have a 100 octane program available by just flipping a switch.

almost... Just have a program done the way you want it with the fuel you plan to run, and load it in your SCT Xcal 2. Then, when at the track, run the program. Takes a minute or so, so no big deal.

Mine is on dyno now.

With 18lbs of boost, fuel is an issue. And he is one of the best ford tuners
out there.

Water/methanol injection can reduce iat, add more octane. Snow Performance sells a kit that has many safety features; low tank light, no flow light, can pull timing if problem. Cheap and easy to install. Comes on with boost. Could use all the time or when switch to high hp program.

Water injection has been used since WWII on planes for detonation suppresion, and added performance.

If you put the high compression pulley on the whipple, but pull timing for 91 or 93 octane, than load in the high performance tune with the sct and turn on water/ meth, or water/alcohol injection. Vundabah! big, safe hp, and local gas use.

gas use.
I looked at Snow's website and it seems like a good product, but not for the GT. There isn't a good place to plumb the injection nozzles. Snow says it should be done after the intercooler, but at that location access is poor and even distribution of the water mix is problematic. Inject before the intercooler can lead to water puddling and or corrosion of the intercooler.

Also a lot of methenol injectors do not give a good spray pattern as well as requiring maintenance because of the effect methanol has on the fuel injectors.

Methanol will corrode your supercharger, and do it very quickly.
