I was there and bidding... I lost!

I can confirm that the winning bid was $560K.

The winning bidder may select any specification GT that they wish to select; i.e., any of the Heritage Editions or a Carbon Edition. (Note: I am not sure about the Victory Edition. The Victory Edition may be off limits, but no one stated that it is.)

The catalog description stated that "Build approval process limitations are waived (all specs will be made available)"

"All specs" is a fairly inclusive statement.

Additionally, the winning bidder may choose from among the 2020, 2021, or 2022 model years.

My wife was not with me at the Petersen (her mistake!). She raised an eyebrow when I told her what I had bid! She said, "Let me get this straight... your new GT is just about to go into assembly, and you bid what for a second allocation?!"

I replied to her by simply stating that, "A man can never have too many Ford GTs!"

That actually seems like a pretty good deal- used NGTs are a higher delta than that, and this comes with all the perks mentioned above.

The winning bid was indeed $560k. I was in attendance. It was a really nice charitable event honoring the Ford family. There were several of our Ford execs in attendance including Bill Ford, Elena Ford, Jim Farley, and our new CFO Tim Stone as well as other members of the Ford family. Attached is the description in the catalogue. The winning bid was just for the allocation. The winner is still responsible for the cost of the vehicle.

I believe the auction was for an allotment plus the price of the car so $560 + $512 + options?

Correct. The auction was for the allotment only... the winning bidder still had to buy the NGT. Nonetheless, if your application for a NGT was not selected, winning the bid on this allocation was a good way to get a NGT with the exact specifications that you desired. Of course, this car will be in the winning bidders name from day one, too.

That was a good deal for someone to be able to order a brand new car for a hair over a million dollars.

well considering cars are 900k to 1.4 mill depending on miles. 1.1mil is a good deal at the moment.
