Welcome to the world of GTX1 I have #21 one absolute love the car. My Ex Son in law work at Genaddi Design In Green Bay WI. were the cars were made.
If you want to see a good report on the cars look up Jeremy Clarkson video on the GTX1 he like it better than a coupe so much so you bought one . I have 15,000 on mine and enjoy every mile.
Enjoy you are right that about 32 were made at Genaddi and not all were finished. I know of at least 3 red ones ever in Marco Island or Wisconsin in the summer give me a call

Mines bone stock, but you are right. I see cars with 56 miles and 842 miles on them. So I’m not in that ultra low category. Might as well!

Cool cars when done right. As far from ‘bone stock’ however as you can possibly get though.

Understood. I meant stock as far as upgrades and engine mods.

Take it to Scottsdale Cars & Coffee this Saturday. Been a long time, if ever there has been a GTX1 at C & C. Would love to see it!:thumbsup

If I do make cars and coffee it will be in Jezebel my53’. Because I’m a single dad with 2 little girls I have a hard time making simple functions.

+1 Congrats on your purchase! I'm excited to see your GTX in person although the golf tournament may get in the way of my C&C attendance this weekend. If you don't already know, it's the first Saturday of every month at 101/Scottsdale Rd.

seems like they could have just made the car with T tops by modifying the doors instead of chopping the integrity out of the car

Good point. Wonder if there was a reason not to do it this way.

Some of them had killer non-OEM wheels too.

GT40 Roadster is the reason, no? Heritage.

FYI, there were 5-red GTX1s were made.

3-no stripes (although one of those was originally a white stripe car)

2-red with white stripes.

There were also 2-candy red GTX1s built.

Kip Ewing was quoted as saying there were 38 cars made. I've documented 36 of them. They're great cars. Contrary to Barrett-Jackson's expert, these aren't kit cars. This is a Ford design. A design by Ford's engineer Kip Ewing. Ford licensed Gennadi up to 500 cars using their design. The quarter panel badges will read "3/500" or "19/500", etc.

It was a pleasure meeting you and your dad at the Concours at Fountain Hills this weekend. First GTX I have seen in person and I do like the looks. Will keep you informed of other GT gatherings.

Lol 12 drinks later. 😬

Congrats on your GTX purchase. I’ve got about the same number on my odometer and I’ve enjoyed every mile I’ve put on it.

I searched and couldn't find anything about roof mods other than the GTX1, except an old Kip Ewing thread where the idea was discussed.
http://www.fordgtforum.com/forums/showthread.php/14986-Major-GTX1-Surgery

I see there's a GTX1 on ebay now with a removable full hard roof that has t-top-like elements.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/2005-GTX-1/153370717457

Are there other examples of GTs with door / roof modifications that eliminated the head-banging feature?

Enjoy your car.
I personally love the look of the production assemblyline FGT (so much) that the GTX-1 does not really appeal to my senses because it “takes away” from that specific look I enjoy. Some of us are OCD like that.

But I do see one here at shows every summer and I always go look at it.
