Why would anyone want this, for $4,000.

Maybe GTJoey, but no one else. :banana

$2,500 seems a little strong but to each his own. $250 may be a good place to start.

If anyone wants one, I'll buy some of the paint colors and paint one up for $800. BARGAIN!

The seller sure knows how to gush. I think in legal terms it's called 'puffery'. :eek

I'm a lawyer so I am qualified to say it isn't "puffery". The correct legal term is "bullshit".

I saw the listing yesterday and wanted to post but refrained for fear of insulting another forum member. Apparently, I'm not alone in my feelings. Generally and IMO, GT owners are an intelligent lot not likely to fall prey to this buffoon’s nonsensical sales pitch.

I would think pre-production samples of any kind are the property of Ford, Saleen, Rousch or the vendor ... in this case, BASF. Therefore, unless the seller can prove legal ownership via letter or Bill of Sale, my assumption is that the item is stolen (unfortunately, it would appear by a Team member). Therefore, buying it is essentially receipt of stolen property. This is similar to the engineering tolerance cards some other Ford Team member has been trying to peddle on ebay for months at several hundred dollars. I wouldn't touch either auction.

Regardless of legalities, "rareness", insulting someone, or blah, blah, blah - THIS IS JUST PLAIN DUMB.:frown Sorry. But, that's the plain truth of it.

I think there's a turnip truck runnin' around "one short" sumwhars...

I defer to counsel for accuracy. :lol

"Being involved with the project, I negotiated to take receipt of this panel"

Translation: He (maybe) asked his superior if anyone minded if he fished it out of the dumpster.:lol

"Group buy" ain't what 'tis you be smellin'...

Panel for Sale - Hello Guys!

Hello FGT guys! I am the guy which had the panel for sale on ebay! Before you get ready to hang me, please respect that I feel I am stepping into a den of wolves :) ...but I came anyway.

To be honest, I did not even know there was an FGT forum or I would have used it to test the waters and feel out a price range. I had no idea where to benchmark the price. An anonymous mail to my ebay tipped me off that the forum existed so I decided to visit (obviously after the fact). I was not out to rob anyone on this item. Although from looking at the postings, you do not believe the story in the listing, it is true. This is a legitimate piece and obtained legitimately while in the project (not stolen as inferred).

Regardless, the point I came to make is that I realize the item was priced way too high.....unfortunately, hindsight always catches us later! Maybe this was my "Ms. Teen USA" moment.....okay. And before anyone fires off that I am pitching a marketing campaign for a new auction, I am not.....the item has not been relisted. I am an honest guy that mis-priced an item...that is it.

Please accept my apologies if I have offended any of you FGT owners. I have loyalties to my own brands and understand where your comments came from. And just so you know, I do not own a turnip truck nor am I missing from a turnip truck! Seriously, I hope you guys can appreciate and understand where I am coming from. I do not mind eating a little humble pie....I also hope that you all can detect when someone is trying to be true and sincere.

Regards,
JB
