Oil analysis recommendations

I haven't done oil analysis in a number of years, as the last time I was getting it checked regularly was to find out whether Mobil 1 synthetic oils were good for change intervals of more than one year and more than 12,000 miles in the Mercedes I was driving then. The answers after several years of testing were yes, and yes. So I stopped doing it. I will change the oil in my FGT, which I bought at the end of April, at 30Kmi (now at 28.7Kmi), and want to start tracking the oil analysis again.

There's not much in the archives about specific labs. Which labs do you recommend and why?

Thanks in advance

I've never even heard of any others besides Blackstone

Wix and Amsoil have contracted labs and sell sample kits too.

I have used Blackstone for years and been very pleased with the work, and down to earth recommendations they give on each analysis. Kits are free, you pay when they do the work.

Damn............it's nice that guys like y'all are members here. Thank you very much!!

I read every word, though I cannot state unequivocally that I understand every word (dictionary at the ready when necessary - Ive been looking for my Chemistry textbooks) when the analysis is provided.

Peter,
Sorry I cannot recommend any analysis vendors. I had airplane oils sampled ever change with a local vendor Lubricon which went out of business.

But I am interested in your findings. What oil are you starting out for use in your GT?

Thanks.
