An expanded version of this is in our Richmond paper today. The picture incorrectly says I am on right--on right is Lutz.

Actually even though the article came out today I bought the car from him over 2 years ago. The day I visited with him he gave me a tour of his car collection and a helicopter ride to a nearby auto restoration shop. (he also flies jets)

He was at GM then and let me drive a number of cars he had including the brand new ZR1. I bought the CTS-V on his recommendation.

We have kept up since. I have shown him my GTs and he knows a lot of the guys on the GT team at Ford. He and his wife could not be nicer or more down to earth. His new book is a good read.

We should all look and be doing so well at 79 years old!!

Great article, congrats................A funny thing which I have never told anyone before...........in 1991 I was in Acton Mass (rocketman's home town) working on a movie called School Ties, with many of today's superstars. This was their first movie on their way to stardom.........Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and others..........I was the Picture Car Coordinator, and the setting took us back to 1955. So it was my job to recruit all of the 250 plus vehicles for many scenes. I visited, and/or looked at all of the cars before hand for condition, to be used in the movie. On one visit, I was introduced to a gentelman Engineer right outside Boston who had a 1953 Ford . While there, he showed me some projects which he was working on. I could tell he had hands of gold. He took a military jeep, totally apart, and assembled it completely with much better parts and mechanicals, all built in his garage. Under a tarp in the corner was his baby project..........built on a corvette chassis, there was a viper.......the first one, conceived by this man........The car was almost finished, except for a windshield that he had not yet sorced out, and an interior. He told me at that time he had over 300K invested, and was looking for investors to finish it. 6 months later, he called me and offered the car to me for 25K........being up to my neck in work...I had to decline, but I know someone from the area did purchase it. I am wondering if Mr. Bob Lutz knows anything about this.....would be interesting.........Thinking back I am kicking myself now....
