Finally went down to the S.O.S and renewed my plate. $587 for $5 worth of metal :bored Figured I'd switch it up this year.

Cool, You should feel lucky, Nebraska charges 7% sales tax. My plates cost more than most peoples cars.
 
Hey, we have 6% sales tax here too. And income tax. And property tax! We one of the few states that's got all the good ones!
 
p.s, in case any one misses the reference, it's because the car has twin 61mm GT35R turbos.

The $587 just pays for the privilege of having a Michigan license plate for the year. It's graduated based on the price of the car and goes down for 3 years before becoming permanent. I think I'm $587 from here on out.

I figure that too. That said, nobody got my old one either unless I was at a Rally.

Around here everyone probably just thought I was a big Michigan fan. GTFORUM was probably mainly construed as "GT FOR University of Michigan". :lol
 
MA has lots o' taxes, but still 5% sales tax, but my plate for the GT (non vanity) is $40......
 
Good stuff. Car guys should get it.

reminds me that I ordered mine 2.5 months ago and havent stopped by the DMV to pick them up. DOH
 
NC $33 for plates for FGT, $48 if personalized... Road Tax this year over $539.00. Total this year $572...... but it will go down next year.

DBK, why do you live in Detroit or even more so Michigan?

Gee.... guess I'll quit complaining about the $75 it costs me a year for my personalized plates (FORD GT) here in Washington!

Yeah but we did that intentionally. This season was a throw away because now we get to clear a whopping $39 millon off the cap in a few weeks. Weren't going any farther with the same team, and had a bunch of money tied up in a team that had reached its plateau.
 
Will be a home run if you get one of LeBron, Wade, Bosh, or Joe Johnson.
 
I already consider it a home run because now I won't have to spend an extra $4k to watch the same team lose in the same round of the playoffs. :lol It's like they've been under direct orders to extend every series to seven games for the last 8 years.
 
I thought your pistons were forged. Seems like blatant forgery would go for much less!
