New GT

I concur.

I've yapped on more than one occasion that there is no reason they can't build 2-3000 Shelby Cobra roadsters per year at a 90-100k price. And they could do it for literally 10 years. The Shelby GT500 is currently the single most profitable vehicle Ford sells. Carroll is 85 years old. If ever there was a time for a legitimate all-new roadster, it is right now.

+1 (put me on the list for two)

Agreed ... just a thought ........... why didn't they offer the GT as a roadster(convertible) ?

Go to Green Bay and get one made.

I'd say was a possibility. Everything in the succession plan was a victim of a) the control arm recall b) the speedi-sleeves and c) market conditions. If the program had gone smoother than a baby's ass (an impossibility for any car, let alone one done ground up in months to go 200+), it might have happened.

I concur. 99 out of 100 GT owners is fanatical about their car/s. The public misses that because Ford did a shitty job combating mis-information on the control arm recall (which affected virtually nobody). Why not take advantage of these people by building the successor?

Hey Dave great to see you the other night:cheers Sorry if I had to much fun before you got there. Anyway, when I presented my Cobra roadster idea to Camillo at the first rally, and told Kip and Fred, they were all for it. Then when Edsel and Sonny heard it from me and Camillo, they were for it. We all agree'd that if it is going to happin, it has to be while "Ol Caroll" is still around.

Your car sounded great blasting out of there by the way!:thumbsup

I was hoping that they would produce a new Shelby Cobra with the V12 as written up in the car mags about a year or so ago.

An updated Daytona Coupe would be nice too! However, I agree with those who doubt these cars will reach production anytime soon with companies like Toyota poised to swallow up Ford.

Ford, really has nothing in production to answer the Blue Devil with. I don't even think a GT500KR is the answer since it is a very limited production vehicle.

Personally, I think Ford needs to focus (pardon the pun) on bread and butter for now and beat back the japs.

OK... this is what ford has been talking about
