I suspect the McLaren 675LT is the closest thing to the GT. Horsepower, weight, transmission gears, drivetrain (RWD versus AWD) and even price make them very similar, at least on paper.

And as someone who has driven the 675LT it doesn't bother me at all to think the two might have similar performance. That car flies, and I suspect the GT will be at least a bit quicker.

i tend to agree and would not be surprised if they are more similar than we think, i remember there was talk about a 7 speed tranny for the GT whats in the McLaren? the last dual clutch 7 speed box that comes to mind is the one found in the veyron i believe also a ricardo I'm not sure tho

The cars will be very similar. The NFGT with race mode lowering the car and the carbon wheels might be the difference maker. Both are below 2750 lbs dry, have 650+ HP, active aero, carbon tub chassis, and 7 speed dual clutch transmissions.

Can't wait to hear the comparisons. In my mind there are no other competitors.

Aventador SV maybe, but too fat. GT2RS not out yet again too fat, but maybe. 488 Speciale/Scuderia/Stradale not expected for 3 years. All 3 of these are missing the key element which is a carbon monocoque tub and lightweight.

Am I missing anything?

675LT is definitely the only real competitor in my mind, from a performance perspective. Lots of 675LT with MSRP between $400-500k, so pretty similar in price, intent and performance.

I would say the performance of both is comfortably beyond the capability of mere mortals.

Lucky people that get to own either.
