I am looking at a 2006 FGT black (stripe delete) all other options present car. It has 40 miles, bumper delete, x pipe exhaust. 2 previous owners. They want 225k. I think too much. I was thinking 200k What does everyone else think? Shelby, I would love to hear your opinion if you will share....

If you want the car get it...you can always make more $$$. If you can afford $200K then you cal also afford $225K, the difference between the 2 is ego and I do not mean any disrespect. The opportunity to buy a solid black car with 40 miles on it will probably not present itself again. With prices keep heading North, you will recoup most of the delta and a grin that will last you a long while. Just my $0.02

If you plan on keeping the car forever, and you just have to have that option package, negotiate a bit and buy it, even if its for full ticket. If you aren't married to the particulars of the car, keep looking. Remember, this is supposed to be fun. Do what inspires you. Heck, when I was in college I bought my first sports car with a student loan and a cash advance on my credit card. :)

I agree with most of HHGT's comments as I have shared similar comments more than once.

All the best

I think main thing depends on your intended use. If you are looking to drive it, I wouldn't pay a premium just to have 40 miles. Some say better to have a few thousand anyway. If you are looking for a 'museum' piece to hold, that is a different story.

musuem piece. I have my driver

IMO:

IF (annual income > $1M) THEN (price = $225K) ELSE (price = $190K).

Nevermind... now that I see it in writing (190 vs. 225), it looks stupid. Plus I was just looking at a black no stripe (modded) on ebay. So so SCHWEET!

Be sure to get the original removed parts.

Wow, 2 owners and only 40 miles! That must be driving to get oil change and service then moving onto and off of trailer when sold. Sounds like a great car!

Unless one of the forum sponsors is selling, would make sure to get thorough PPI regardless of only 40mi.
Sadly a lot can, and has happened to cars with similar mileage.
As a fellow black no striper - I love them.

I think the bumper delete hurts that car, alot. The X-pipe can be easily changed. Most "collector" cars want cars unmolested. Every see a modified 63 Corvette at a Concours show? Doesn't happen. Of course, if you like the look, 40 miles is 40 miles.

We sold that car to the previous owner with only 3 miles on it and did all the mods on it and he still didnt pay $225k. As for Rose saying the bumper delete hurts the value, I completely disagree. Bumper Delete is a reversible mod. It is completely bolt on. I can not begin to even count the amount of bumper deletes we have done at customers request. I wouldd say that more than HALF of the customers I sell to would want the bumper delete done anyway, so in my opinion, its a PLUS! As for price, $225k is too high TODAY, but tomorrow, Next week, Next year..... Who knows?
The car was offered to me several times over the last couple weeks. Too high for me to turn a profit on it, but what dealer is offering it to you at $225k? Thats the highest I have heard it priced so far.......

I am also aware that the car now has some paint issues on the front bonnet. I have seen this on other cars in the past, but it was not present when we last had it. I am told that it now has several paint bubbles in the front hood. May want to check that out before pulling the trigger...
Other than that, it should be a 100% straight, no stories car.

Shebly, thanks so much for the insight. I agree with you. The 225k is way too much in my opinion. I havent seen the paint issues but it is irrelevant at that price.

I am noticing this on my car, was curious if it is a factory problem or a sign of improper repair.

I have a late '06 blue/while stripe and have the same issue on the hood. I bought the car new right off the transporter so I can say it is a paint defect rather than a repair. I have seen a fair number of cars with the same problem. I also have a paint issue with the center tunnel, which isn't that unusual. I have decided not to repaint either for now.

Can someone post pictures of these paint imperfections please. And is it with/without Clear Bra....

At that price you'd hate yourself after putting some 1000s of miles on it. Better a driver that you can enjoy and do mods for the savings

So Smith, you are saying that a no mile, brand new, in the wrapper, Ford GT with body altering and exhaust mods...is worth the same as a untouched no mile, brand new, in the wrapper, Ford GT? You pay the same for both cars?

Not to take anything away from bumper delete cars, it's a good looking mod (and one that adds value to most cars), but when you are buying a car based solely on investment mindset, a modded car is not the best route.

I would agree. We'll talk later this morning at C&C!
