Mecum Red Gt Lot F119

Looking at the description of this 25 mile car up for auction today, at the bottom it states "Cannot be registered in California". Why not?:confused

They also have a very low mileage Heritage, no stripe black?(I think, memory is getting worse) and a silver car.

Here is the list for this weekend....

Crazy to see GT's are thought to "start" at 300k +, NICE! So, when you are driving your GT, don't be surprised at all the finger pointing and picture taking as your GT has become one of the most beloved American cars ever!

If your not interested in an Auction Car. I'm ready to sell my 05 White / Blue 4 Option Car Mileage is 2,500, maintained by the GT Guys,
Standard Goodies, save your buyers premium and make a reasonable offer under 300K. Some may not think i want to sell
my GT but it is time. The above mentioned cars are spectacular and deserve to be sold higher than 300K.

Does anyone have an answer to my question about why that car can't be registered in California?

Despite the claim in the ad, I'm sure it can be registered in CA. All GT's were 50-state vehicles. The CA DMV person will come outside and look at the VIN on the dash as well as the emissions sticker to verify that it is compliant with CA emissions (it is). Then assuming you have a smog certificate in the system, the car can be registered.

Has to be smog'd to be registered and needs to be driven long enough(possibly 100+ miles) for the OBD system to be cleared. Battery likely died on it at some point in the last 10+yrs its been sitting

That's only a temporary problem. 'Can't be registered in CA' implies it would never pass inspection. If they're bone stock cars, there is no reason for this.

Lot F119 sold for 340K. I believe mecum lists hammer price so add the buyer's commission (it is usually negotiable)

I know and I wouldn't have used their choice of words either. Am just the messenger. Auction houses are typically just protecting themselves legally.

Time to adjust values if you have an agreed value policy.

How about the cool $1MM for the '05 Carerra GT(Lot S45)? Wow. Seems like yesterday that those couldn't break $350,000...

I missed a really nice black/terra cotta one for 375 about two years ago. Oh well can't with them all.
