Just about to post that RJY. Incredible. In that ugly a** red no less. :lol

I'll ask my local Ferrari dealer if he will give me two 430s plus some cash for my GT.

Fantastic result yes!

The RED cars set the floor on prices. All of the other colors are higher in price. :lol

All you guys with spare, "in the wrapper" cars are doing it right. That was my plan within a year of getting my car (August 2005) but it never happened.

Note I said "SPARE" because even with their escalating value it's a crime to not experience these cars. But if you have the means to fully enjoy one and also save one for a rainy (read: future investment) day you're rockin'!

I can only claim the first part of that plan (yeah, I know -- "boo-noo for me").

You're one mean dude... :)

These auction prices are wacky. Shelby has a 1,900 mile red car for $219k and a 300 mile white car for $234k. I guess the buyer of the Mecum car doesn't know how to use the internet.

Some buyers get caught up in the moment and bid more than a rational person would do. It happens on ebay all the time. I see used stuff selling for more than new items.

True. The Mecum car with buyer's premium is $270k. That's $51k of irrational exurberance. I've been excited too and bought a woman expensive drinks or a piece of jewelry, but dang, $51k?. Buyer is going to have a major hangover.

Many of men have spent way more than 51K getting excited on women! How about half of your net worth and future earnings. :lol

My divorce attorney friends call that the f****** you get for the f****** you got.

You all are so bad..lol.....I see the link already posted at Fchat's Muscle Cars.

A red 600 mile car just sold 2 weeks ago at auction, with 600 miles, for $190k. There are more to these auctions than many people realize and also don't believe all the results you see. Different auction houses have been known to run up their own bids to attract future sellers into using them to sell their cars. Like a few have already said, there are MANY lower mile cars online for MUCH MUCH cheaper. $255k+ on an 1800 red car is way over market, but great for the seller if he truly got that....

Rising tide lifts all boats.

270K??? They have a 20% buyer's premium at Mecum?? From what I see at these auctions, the buyers have more money than brains. I have been saying the for years about Mecum and BJ.

The sold car was a client's car - The buyer is here, on the boards, and has been for some time - He is very happy with his new FGT / Congrats to both the buyer and the seller for a deal well done
