My McIntosh Amp fan behind the subwoofer is quite loud. Annoyingly so. I sent a video clip to Rich Brooks and he agrees it is too loud. Has anyone else experienced this and sourced a replacement fan for the amp? I am hoping to be able to replace just the fan and not the whole amp.
.
Thanks for any suggestions.

I actually just found this post with a good thread and some photos....I can make out that SUNON makes the two fan but can't read part number. I sent the original poster an e-mail in the hopes he remembers.

Ehh got brave and took mine apart. There are two fans and each one is labeled SUNON Maglev fan part number KDE1204PKV3.

Here is a link.

Cut off yellow wire on your replacement and splice in your original two connector ends. Thats my plan at least! The yellow wire is for fan speed control which we don't use.

Awesome. Now if you could only find one without the speed control it'd probably cost $1.50

Actually the first place above was out of stock.

Here is where I bought them and these have no extra speed control wire :

Who needs a sound system in that car?
Keep it for resale, but just pull the fuse.
Might be possible, that you need a new (louder) exhaust system.
Don't think that I've ever turned on the system in that car other then to see if it actually worked.
My Best,
Mark
