I have always been a huge fan of Steve McQueen, in Bullitt, here is post from Autoblog that has a "making of" that I really enjoyed. Also a link to the chase. Truly amazing what they did on public streets, in mostly real time, and no CGI. GREAT stuff.

Great flick. Bill Hickman must have been some kind of driver; Bullitt, French Connection, Seven Ups. He basically choreographed each film's chase scene.

I think he loses 7 hubcaps in the chase scene, and how many times does that green vw beetle get in the way on the hills? (ok, maybe I've seen it a few too many times).
