Some tuners have said this is a requirement. I would assume there is some benefit at some level of airflow.

Depends on what pulley you use. I think at 15psi you're on the edge. (I use the Mafia with the KB 15psi set-up.) Any more than 15psi, I think you will definitely need it.

I just had my GT tuned by Jerry W. with a 3.0" upper pulley and it had a MAF "AD" count of 1017 !!! MAX "AD" count is 1023, if updated in the TUNE or 980 "AD" counts if using the STOCK tune. You NEED the MAFia with ANY pulley SMALLER than 3.0" !!!
