Out of production. The company went belly up!

Yeah, out of production. I've got 18/19, and a friend in Calgary has 19/20. They're awesome. We just better not curb them....

I did a Google search on Dymag and many busted wheels came up. Do they snap when you put load on em??

The only busted one I have seen was on Porsche race car. Are they safe, I don't know. It is a moot point since they out of production and I wouldn't trust a used wheel, especially a CF one.

BlackICE is right. The only reported busted one was on a Porsche race car. It had stress fractures from before and they raced it anyway. I was also a Magnesium center (more brittle). The new ones are all magnesium - alloy, much stronger without the brittle-ness. But also, and also as said, I wouldn't buy em used unless you really get them checked out, and you gotta know that you can't get a replacement since they're no longer around. But my friends tell me that HRE (since they bought Dymags supply) might still have a few barrels hidden away...... You never know if you ask......and HRE does have some nice centers......

By the way, got any pics of your 'paint mods'? On the other forum when you said "bare aluminum gulf theme", I thought of a certain Ferrari. Did you see this bare alu 'gulf' Ferrari?

Dymag is not out of business, they went under but came back selling motorcycle wheels which was originally how they started. I have a set of Dymags for my R8. The biggest complaint was due to early model leakage. This was supposed to have been fixed in later models. Regardless the American distributor is still around and he can rebuild and fix the leakage problem.

If you want that look - get the ADV1.10's. They are almost identical, but are concave. I bough them for a few of my rides - here they are on the GT in a 19/20" configuration. Pictures aren't great, but you get the drift. I also posted a picture from ADV's site below - which give you a good idea. They are available in any finish/color. www.adv1wheels.com

This page has a few more pics of the GT with them --

I would NOT go to 20" fronts like that GTX1 - there's not enough rubber and you won't like the ride. I did that on my Z and I hate it to death, also doesn't look great...

Your wheels looks great!!! - I had my eye on the ADV.1 wheels for some time. I also like the 5 spoke wheel they do.
I'm a big fan of the 1 piece wheels for the GT.

How much did you pay for those?? (pm me if you prefer)

Cheers

Those wheels are somewhere in the 5.3-5.5k range depending on finish- and there are a few resellers around who can get them done for you. I think you should probably contact ADV1 directly and speak to Jordan. I believe they have distributors and dealers in Europe as well.

FWIW, I've had a good run with ADV1. I've purchased 3 sets of ADV1 wheels, all superb quality and no issues at all.

That's kind of --not so pretty...

Gran Turismo for you...:-) The car is quite detailed for a video game...

I bought and paid for my Dymags and discovered they were in administration.

Luckily They had finished the build but I had to rush to the factory and collect them

Lovely wheel but I'm so scared of damaging them

How much do they weigh?

How much do they weigh?

the 19/20 set is marginally heavier (but not much). I've got 18/19's and they're 13.5 (18x9) and under 17.5 (19x12) respectively.

racing 144.jpgDymag Wheels are excelent and very strong, I run cast magnesium on my race car and have had a few hard knocks, and a porsche tok out my left front, massive damage, but the wheel survived. They do make a carbon Fibre rim section with a magnesium centre,, Haven`t had any experience with them yet..
