Im glad that driving on the left hand side of the road after years of driving on the RHS is not as difficult as learning how to ride the welders bike!! Good post Ralphie. I know engineers will enjoy it.

After 40 years of testing aircraft for the military, I've seen engineers design many systems backwards. Wish I had had this video to explain the problem to them which was very difficult to convince them at times. Remember when the Japanese cars first came to the states and the radios and other controls were backwards?

My daughter was a bit older (9) when she started riding a bicycle. She was convinced the bike was defective. Tried and tried. And then it clicked. EasyPeasy. I'd be quite intrigued to try the backwards bike - when your ego is as big as mine, its healthy to be humbled once in a while.

Methinks the steering geometry on that bike is a tad too quick adding immensely to the complexity.

That thought crossed my mind as well but looking at the gears installed, it was a simple 1:1 ratio. So, a 10 degree input to the left would yield a 10-degree output to the right. Nothing tricky there.
What I'd like to see is a group of 20 kids who are at the right point of learning to ride a bike. Give 10 of them normal bikes and 10 of them the reversed bikes. Is the learning process (time) equivalent?? Too much for my small brain....
